Event mon­i­tor­ing at this year’s O-SEE Challenge

This year we sup­port the sport­ing event at the lake in Olbers­dorf. The O-SEE Chal­lenge is one of the largest sport­ing events in Sax­ony with more than 1,100 ath­letes and more than 12,000 spec­ta­tors. You have to swim through the lake, face the Zit­tauer Moun­tains on a moun­tain bike, and final­ly run an off-road cir­cuit around the lake indi­vid­u­al­ly or as a team.

Fol­low­ing the open­ing cer­e­mo­ny and the “Pas­ta Par­ty” on Fri­day, the pro­fes­sion­als and ama­teurs of all ages start the races on Sat­ur­day. The after-show par­ty, the “O-See After Race Open Air”, which fol­lows the award cer­e­mo­ny with per­for­mances of the rock bands “EAT THE GUN” and “Herzig” is a major attrac­tion. On Sun­day the chil­dren and youths start the O-SEE X’Kids tour­na­ment, accom­pa­nied by an exten­sive pro­gram for young and old.

This year’s high­light is the XTER­RA EURO­PEAN CHAM­PI­ONSHIP 2016, which takes place in Olbers­dorf at the O-SEE Chal­lenge for the sec­ond time after 2011.

The XTER­RA series is con­sid­ered the newest and most spec­tac­u­lar cross triathlon, where the best ath­letes qual­i­fy for the world cham­pi­onship on Maui.

The VIMTEC MBE 1500 was already test­ed at the O-SEE Chal­lenge last year, as part of the pro­to­type devel­op­ment. This year VIMTEC will sup­port the event mon­i­tor­ing with its now ful­ly devel­oped mobile sur­veil­lance unit.
